Let the fun begin ! My interest in Landscape photography began here in Arizona, where there is so much to see and many places to wander around. My favorite places to go are the very remote ones... there are no disturbances; the only sounds you hear are Birds or my Dogs :>) then I realized there is much more to photograph. I started photographing Animals in the wild, which grew to be my absolute passion ! It definitely takes a lot of patience and persistency. The thought of my Blog is to share some of my very favorite photos, along with information and tips about my travels.
So I will start with some of my very favorite today: The peach-faced Lovebirds.

The peach-faced Lovebird is the smallest of the parrot family. On average most Birds fall between 5 and 7 inches in length at maturity. The average wing length is 4.17 inches and tail length 1.73 to 2.04 inches.

Wild birds are mostly green with a blue rump. The face and throat are pink, darkest on the forehead and above the eye. The bill is horn colored, the iris is brown and the legs and feet are grey. Their diet mainly consists of seeds and berries.
Lovebirds are monomorphic, meaning the male and female of the species look alike.
4-6 eggs are laid between February and April. They are incubated for about 23 days.
The young birds fledge after 43 days.

Since at least the mid-1980s, feral flocks of these Lovebirds have been reported breeding in residential neighborhoods of the greater Phoenix area. Most exotic species that escape do not survive long in the wild and fewer still establish breeding populations in non-native habitats. However, during the past 28 years, populations of these lovebirds have increased and expanded and they have become regular city, park, and backyard visitors to many greater Phoenix areas.
